Tryout Details

Boys Tryouts scheduled for Sunday, September 14th and Tuesday, September 16th. Boys should attend at least one session, and attending both tryout dates is recommended. (Note different times for each day).

3rd & 4th Grade Boys:

Day 1: 5:00pm - 6:15pm on Sept 14th.
Day 2: 6:00-7:00pm on Sept 16th.

5th & 6th Grade Boys:

Day 1: 6:30pm - 7:45pm on Sept 14th.
Day 2: 7:00-8:00pm on Sept 16th.

Girls Tryouts scheduled for Sunday, September 21st

3rd - 6th Grade Girls: 6:00pm - 7:30pm

Tryouts will be held at the Westerville Central High School. The tryouts are closed tryouts (players and staff only). Parents should plan to drop off and pick up their kids at the above times. Parents are not permitted to wait around the gym or in the check-in area during tryouts.

Open Gym Details

WYBA Open Gym (co-ed)

Open Gym will be Sunday, September 7th.

3rd & 4th Grade - 5:00pm - 6:15pm
5th & 6th Grade - 6:30pm - 7:45pm

Skills Sessions offered by Westerville Central High School Programs:

Boys: Coaching Staff and Players of Central HS Boys Program will offer a Youth Skills Camp on Wednesdays in September, from 7:00-8:15pm (Sept 3, 10, 17). Cost will be $20 per session or $50 for all 3 sessions if paid upfront on the first day. Please make checks payable to WCABC Boys Basketball.

Girls: Coaching Staff of Central HS Girls Program plans to offer Skills Sessions and is working on scheduling gym availability.

Player Commitment

The season runs from November - February, with practices 2 nights per week at a Westerville school gym (starting early November) and generally 2 games per weekend (starting late November/early December). Teams will have between 14-16 games during the regular season plus 2-3 events/tournaments (pending grade level). Home Games will be played at the Westerville Central High School on Sundays. Away Games will be played at other Central Ohio area schools on Saturdays and/or Sundays. Practices will be between the hours of 6:15pm-8:15pm on either a Mon/Wed or Tues/Thurs schedule, and last no longer than 90 minutes.

The WYBA program relies on volunteer coaches, and we appreciate you! If you are interested in coaching please submit a Coaching Application and someone from the program will respond to your inquiry.

Coaching Commitment: Teams will practice twice a week (usually a Tues/Thurs schedule or Mon/Wed) starting in November with games on Saturdays and Sundays. The teams will have between 14-16 games during the regular season plus 2-3 events/tournament.
