WYBA Board

The Warhawks Youth Basketball (WYBA) program is overseen by a volunteer Board, with a separate volunteer board for Cheerleading program. The WYBA Board manages registration, scheduling, communication, compliance, supports team coaches in various ways, and works closely with the Westerville City School District and the Westerville Central High School Varsity Basketball programs.

The Warhawks Youth Basketball Association was started in 2021 by a group of volunteer parents who wanted to bring a COBA team to the Westerville school district children.  While being supported by the school district, Westerville Central High School athletic department and Varsity Basketball staff, these parents figured out how to form a program of teams that play in the COBA league, schedule gym time, recruit players and coaches, and elevate the program to be have a community focus (see Community page).    

Timeline: 

• 2021-2022: First Boys Basketball season
• 2022-2023: Expanded to add Girls Basketball 
• 2023-2024:  Expanded to add Cheerleading for Home Games at Central High School (see Cheerleading page)
